Procurement Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Lead to drive procurement and commercial delivery for a major infrastructure programme worth over £1.5 billion. Based in Brighton, you will work within the Major Projects function of a utilities business, shaping procurement strategies and supporting innovative delivery models across large‑scale capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of procurement strategies for major infrastructure and capital investment programmes.
• Support Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) projects and alternative procurement models.
• Engage with suppliers, market participants, investors, consortiums and engineering consultancies throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, project managers and commercial specialists to ensure programme delivery.
• Provide governance, commercial strategy development and best‑practice procurement guidance across projects.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators and external delivery partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading procurement activities within major infrastructure, capital projects or programme environments.
• Strong understanding of project‑based procurement, commercial strategy and large‑scale delivery.
• Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across technical, commercial and regulatory domains.
• Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
