Procurement Manager

About the role

The company, a fast‑growing industrial business operating in the natural resources and engineering sector, is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead its procurement function. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will shape sourcing strategy, manage supplier relationships and support a major operational development project.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies across key spend categories.
• Lead tendering activities, supplier selection and commercial negotiations.
• Manage procurement performance, reporting and KPI delivery.
• Oversee day‑to‑day procurement operations and team leadership (5 direct reports).
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, controls and governance frameworks.
• Support ERP implementation, adoption and process optimisation.
• Collaborate with operational, engineering, finance and project teams.
• Provide functional leadership across procurement, warehouse and inventory activities.

Required profile

• MCIPS qualification.
• Proven procurement leadership experience in industrial, manufacturing, engineering, construction, mining, quarrying or project‑based environments.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a track record of delivering value.
• Experience managing procurement of goods and services.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability.
• Experience working within ERP‑enabled procurement environments.
• Ability to balance commercial priorities, governance and operational delivery.
• Experience in heavy industry, procurement transformation programmes, category management or ERP implementation projects is advantageous.
