Procurement Manager

About the role

Global University Systems is building a new Global Procurement function and needs a Procurement Manager to help shape its future. Reporting to the Head of Global Procurement, you will lead end‑to‑end sourcing projects and support category heads in delivering strategic procurement across the UK and globally.

Key responsibilities

• Lead procurement projects from initiation through implementation and contract management.
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing and category‑management plans aligned with organisational goals.
• Deliver measurable cost savings, value creation and risk mitigation across key spend areas.
• Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, supplier innovation and risk exposure.
• Lead supplier selection processes, including RFI/RFP and tender activities.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures and contractual agreements.
• Build and manage strong supplier relationships to ensure performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with operational priorities.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with governance, regulatory requirements and best‑practice standards.
• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide expert procurement advice to senior stakeholders and project teams.
• Manage risk throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of strategic procurement and category‑management principles.
• Proven ability to lead procurement projects and deliver sourcing strategies.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing supplier contracts.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional, global environment.
• Experience in market analysis, risk assessment and supplier performance monitoring.
