About the role

This permanent role supports a charitable organisation that assists people affected by crime and traumatic incidents across England and Wales. The Procurement Manager will lead the creation of a centralised procurement function, ensuring ethical, value‑driven purchasing that aligns with the charity’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of a centralised procurement function.
• Design and implement procurement strategies that support organisational objectives.
• Embed procurement policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure best value.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance and risk.
• Lead contract negotiations, renewals and due‑diligence processes.
• Oversee the full procurement lifecycle from requisition to payment.
• Provide commercial advice and support to internal stakeholders.
• Promote value for money, sustainability and ethical procurement practices.
• Analyse market trends to identify cost‑saving and efficiency opportunities.
• Support wider finance initiatives and contribute to organisational strategy.

Required profile

• Experienced procurement professional with a strong commercial mindset.
• Ability to work both strategically and operationally.
• Commitment to safeguarding, diversity and inclusion, and to the charity’s mission.
• Willingness to undergo background and DBS checks where required.
