Procurement Officer

About the role

We are working with an established not‑for‑profit organisation to recruit a Procurement Officer. This role will bring the procurement function in‑house, leading end‑to‑end procurement activity across areas such as repairs, planned works, asset management, professional services and IT.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement and contracting processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal governance.
• Provide expert procurement advice to stakeholders and promote best practice.
• Develop procurement documentation and support publication of notices via the Central Digital Platform.
• Manage procurement pipelines, timetables and forward plans.
• Identify and manage procurement and commercial risks.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and the contracts register.
• Challenge specifications and identify opportunities to improve value for money.
• Work closely with contract managers, commissioning leads and suppliers.

Required profile

• Experience developing and improving procurement processes and procedures.
• Proven experience leading end‑to‑end procurement processes.
• Strong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and PCR 2015.
• Experience advising and challenging stakeholders on procurement, compliance and value for money.
• Experience within social housing, public sector or not‑for‑profit organisations (advantageous).
• CIPS Level 4/5+, MCIPS or equivalent experience (desirable).

What we offer

• Annual salary: £51,000.
• Contract: Full‑time, permanent.
• Location: East London.
• Working pattern: Hybrid, 1 day per week in the office.
• Annual leave: 27 days plus public and bank holidays.
