Procurement Officer (Methil)

About the role

Navantia UK is seeking a Procurement Officer to join its Methil site. The role will manage the full procurement cycle for subcontracted works, services and goods, supporting the company’s defence and energy projects. You will work closely with project, legal, finance and operations teams to secure value‑for‑money contracts while ensuring compliance and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end procurement process for subcontracted works, services and goods.
• Prepare and issue RFPs, RFQs and contracts.
• Assess subcontractor proposals, capabilities and performance.
• Lead negotiations to obtain competitive pricing and favourable terms.
• Monitor contract delivery, performance and compliance.
• Maintain accurate procurement records for reporting and audit.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategy with project objectives.
• Conduct market research, identify new suppliers and benchmark pricing.
• Support colleagues on procurement policies and best practices.
• Identify and manage supplier‑related risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, preferably in subcontracting or services procurement.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract management and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly organised, detail‑focused and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• SAP (experience is a plus).
