Procurement Officer – Temporary (up to £450 per day)

About the role

The public sector organisation is looking for a Procurement Officer to deliver procurement projects across a range of service areas on a temporary basis. You will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring compliance, efficiency and value for money throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver procurement projects across multiple service areas, maintaining compliance and value for money.
• Provide expert procurement advice to stakeholders throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Manage compliant procurement exercises in line with legislation, regulations and organisational procedures.
• Develop high‑quality tender documentation and oversee evaluation and contract award processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify commercial opportunities and achieve strategic procurement objectives.
• Support supplier and contract management to maximise performance and mitigate risk.
• Maintain robust procurement records and reporting to satisfy governance and audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement performance and stakeholder satisfaction.

Required profile

• Experience delivering procurement projects within the public sector.
• Knowledge of relevant procurement legislation, regulations and organisational procedures.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor and provide expert guidance to stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration skills to identify commercial opportunities and meet strategic objectives.
