Procurement Officer – Transport for Wales

About the role

The Procurement Officer will join the Procurement team at Transport for Wales, supporting the delivery of efficient and compliant procurement and contracting services across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice on market routes and supplier engagement, ensuring alignment with the Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain Policy and relevant legislation.
• Support day‑to‑day management of a wide range of procurement and commercial activities, keeping stakeholders informed and maintaining accurate records.
• Execute procurement activities in line with TfW processes, policies and Welsh Government objectives, including sustainable procurement opportunities.
• Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, change‑control registers and audit trails for commercial departures.
• Assist in the development, delivery and continuous improvement of procurement policies, procedures and systems to achieve value for money.

Required profile

• Experience in a procurement or commercial role, supporting the full procurement lifecycle.
• Ability to quickly understand commercial requirements, identify risks and support project delivery.
• Proven relationship‑building and stakeholder collaboration skills, especially in high‑volume environments.
• Welsh language skills are advantageous but not essential.
