Procurement Specialist – Strategic Sourcing

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to lead strategic sourcing activities for the UK market. The role will focus on managing risk, optimizing value and resilience of material and service supplies, and establishing supplier relationship processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies in line with category leaders.
• Negotiate agreements for local, regional, and global requirements and manage price list renewals.
• Conduct benchmark studies and apply Hitachi Energy CIPS methodology.
• Create and maintain frame contracts and contract amendments.
• On‑board new suppliers, run regular supplier evaluations and provide performance reports.
• Monitor market dynamics affecting availability and pricing of materials/services.
• Contribute to budgeting, cost‑saving initiatives and ensure sourcing performance targets are met.
• Facilitate communication across divisions, business units and functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or supply chain management, preferably in energy, manufacturing or industrial sectors.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to collaborate with engineering, operations and finance teams.
• Experience with supplier onboarding, evaluation and performance management.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, terms and long‑term agreements.
