Product and Process Development Technologist

About the role

The Bread Factory is seeking a Product and Process Development Technologist to turn creative briefs into market‑ready bakery products. You will work closely with the Creative Studio, Procurement and Production teams to design, test and launch innovative breads and pastries at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer and creative briefs into commercially viable product concepts and recipes.
• Develop and scale recipes, ensuring they meet quality, consistency, cost and efficiency targets.
• Plan, execute and document production trials, capturing recipes, process settings, SPC data and quality measurements.
• Conduct water activity, pH and other analytical tests; arrange microbiological and shelf‑life testing.
• Support first‑run production, troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing launch support.
• Create and maintain process specifications and quality attribute standards.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities across products and processes.

Required profile

• Experience in food product development, preferably within a bakery or broader food manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret trial data and quality metrics.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
