Production Accountant

About the role

Our client, a global television production house, is looking for an Assistant Production Accountant to support the financial and operational controls of their growing slate of productions. Based in Central London, you will work on‑site, collaborating closely with production managers and senior accountants to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update detailed cost reports, providing real‑time visibility of actuals, accruals and committed spend.
• Work with the Production Manager to forecast cost impacts, highlight variances and flag issues.
• Track production expenditure across all departments and support the senior accountant with cost consolidation.
• Oversee crew payroll postings, petty cash handling, and ensure accurate digital filing of invoices.
• Code, review and assign purchase orders, invoices and expenses to the correct budget lines.
• Assist with cash‑flow updates, cost consolidation and final cost reporting.

Required profile

• Finance experience within a media or production environment.
• Understanding of production budgeting, cost reporting and financial controls.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with production management systems such as Octopus PMI.
