Production Editor – Magazine

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Production Editor to lead the editorial production of a monthly magazine. You will coordinate schedules, manage workflows, and ensure each issue meets the highest editorial and design standards while staying on deadline.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end flat‑plan production schedule for print and digital issues.
• Coordinate articles, images, advertisements and other content between editorial, design and production teams.
• Copy‑edit and proofread content for grammar, style, accuracy and compliance with house guidelines.
• Liaise with writers, designers, photographers, printers and external suppliers.
• Track deadlines, review page proofs and sign off final versions.
• Maintain editorial style guides, production procedures and version control.
• Verify captions, headlines, credits and ensure copyright clearances.
• Assist with digital publishing tasks such as website uploads and CMS management.
• Travel internationally and within the UK for assignments, conferences and webinars.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Publishing, English, Communications or a related field.
• Proven experience in magazine publishing or editorial production.
• Excellent command of written English and strong understanding of editorial standards.

What we offer

• Salary £40,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
• Hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
• Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑5 pm schedule
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• International travel as part of the role
