Production Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Production Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at a specialist manufacturer of bespoke industrial cooling and heat‑exchange equipment. Based at our Fareham/Portsmouth sites, you will drive continuous improvement across fabrication and assembly, ensuring products are built efficiently, to high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the production engineering team, fostering a culture of lean manufacturing.
• Analyse and optimise shop‑floor workflow, routing and overall production efficiency.
• Collaborate with design, fabrication and assembly groups to resolve production issues and support new product introductions.
• Deliver measurable improvements in quality, cost and lead times.
• Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with health & safety and quality regulations.

Required profile

• Engineering background within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with fabricated or engineered‑to‑order products.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
• Hands‑on, practical problem‑solving approach.
• Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, heat exchangers or sheet‑metal fabrication is advantageous.
