Production Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our Darlington manufacturing site. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end production management, ensuring efficiency, quality, on‑time delivery and cost control while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate production teams to achieve forecasted output OTIFNE and the highest quality standards.
• Manage manufacturing budgets and forecasts, controlling labour, material and overhead costs.
• Support financial planning through scenario modelling and efficient resource management.
• Minimise waste and stock write‑offs during product launches, changes and discontinuations.
• Develop and coach teams via performance management, training plans and succession planning.
• Maintain a safe working environment with strong hazard awareness, near‑miss reporting and up‑to‑date risk assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools, root‑cause analysis and performance data.

Required profile

• Strong people‑management capability with a focus on developing individuals and high‑performing teams.
• Collaborative and disciplined approach, able to work independently and within a wider team.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and operational best practice.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills in fast‑paced settings.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing manufacturing budgets and forecasts.
