Production Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our sheet‑metal manufacturing operation in Chelmsford. The successful candidate will ensure that production runs efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards while meeting budget and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day manufacturing processes to guarantee timely, on‑budget output.
• Plan and adjust production schedules, allocate resources and manage budgets.
• Supervise and develop production staff to maintain optimal workflow.
• Monitor quality control procedures and enforce health & safety regulations.
• Coordinate with other departments to streamline raw‑material flow and overall operations.
• Report production performance metrics to senior management and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Manager, preferably in sheet‑metal manufacturing.
• Strong practical knowledge of Amada machinery and related tools.
• Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
• In‑depth understanding of quality standards and health & safety legislation.
• Experience preparing and presenting production performance reports.
• Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
