Production Manager – Sheet Metal Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our sheet‑metal manufacturing operations in Chelmsford. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient, high‑quality production while maintaining safety and budgetary targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee manufacturing processes to deliver products on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Plan production schedules, allocate resources and manage budgets.
• Supervise production staff, ensuring optimal workflow and productivity.
• Monitor quality control procedures and enforce health & safety regulations.
• Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations and manage raw‑material flow.
• Report production performance to senior management and recommend continuous‑improvement actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Manager, preferably in a sheet‑metal environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of Amada machinery and tools.
• Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
• In‑depth understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
• Experience reporting on key production metrics.
• Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
