Production Operative – Foundry (4 on/4 off)

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is seeking reliable Production Operatives to join a busy foundry in South Molton. The role follows a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern and offers a clear pathway from temporary to permanent employment.

Key responsibilities

• Knock out moulds to remove shell after casting.
• Water‑blast moulds to clear shell and ready them for band‑saw work.
• Cut castings with a semi‑automatic band saw.
• Trim casting gates using a manual band saw.
• Remove residual shell material after band‑saw operations.
• Finish casting gates flush and rework castings to eliminate excess material.
• Dry‑blast components to achieve a uniform matte finish.
• Pack and label castings for subcontract processes.
• Follow strict health‑and‑safety guidelines and report hazards.

Required profile

• Proven experience working safely in challenging industrial environments.
• Ability to follow job‑card routines and set procedures.
• Competence in reading and interpreting routing cards.
• Attention to detail for identifying defects.
