Production Operative – Manufacturing Team

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Production Operative to join our manufacturing team in Wallingford. The role involves supporting the assembly and finishing of moulded parts and contributing to boat construction processes. You will work closely with the Team Leader and line supervisor to meet production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in assembling and finishing moulded components as directed.
- Prepare mouldings to support the daily production schedule.
- Participate in boat bonding, cutting, grinding and flow‑coating of bonded boats.
- Produce sub‑assemblies and support other manufacturing areas as required.
- Help train new operatives and maintain a clean, organised workstation.
- Follow health and safety procedures and company policies at all times.
Required profile
- Good general education with at least two years’ experience in a similar role, or a BTEC Level qualification in Engineering plus 1‑2 years’ experience.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem‑solving ability and clear communication of instructions.
- Highly organised with a solid work ethic and attention to detail.
Required skills
- Proficiency with conventional workshop power tools.
- Competence using hand tools.
- Experience in cutting, grinding and flow‑coating processes.
- Ability to prepare mouldings and produce sub‑assemblies.
