Production Planner – Defence & Electronics Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Production Planner to join a national security business in Hampshire. You will be responsible for planning manufacturing activities, coordinating material availability and ensuring production schedules are met across a growing defence and electronics manufacturing unit.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production plans to meet customer delivery schedules.
• Manage MRP recommendations and material requirements.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure timely procurement of materials.
• Monitor production progress and resolve scheduling issues.
• Work closely with Engineering to implement design changes into production.
• Support inventory management, stock control, cycle counts and WIP reporting.
• Produce and maintain production documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning and MRP processes.
• Provide planning support across the manufacturing function and deputise for the Manufacturing Manager when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Planner or Manufacturing Planner.
• Background in a manufacturing or engineering environment, preferably defence or electronics.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Degree or relevant engineering/manufacturing qualification is desirable.
• Previous supervisory or team‑leadership experience is a plus.

• IFS (or similar ERP/MRP system)
• Lean Manufacturing principles
