Production Planning & Forecasting Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Planning professional to own medium‑term production planning and forecasting for a growing UK manufacturer. This role focuses on building robust production plans, improving forecasting capability and providing clear visibility of demand, capacity and risks well before they affect customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage rolling 4‑8 week production plans that balance customer demand, manufacturing capacity and material availability.
• Improve forecasting accuracy by collaborating closely with Sales and Finance.
• Identify and communicate risks to production, supply chain and customer delivery well in advance.
• Create mitigation plans and ensure stakeholders understand the operational impact of planning decisions.
• Monitor planning performance, schedule adherence and OTIF metrics.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Production Planning, Operations Planning, Supply Chain Planning or S&OP within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of demand, capacity and material planning.
• Ability to influence, challenge and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Calm, objective and commercially focused when priorities shift.
• Experience with S&OP, Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement is advantageous.
