Production Supervisor – Lean Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Production Supervisor with a strong interest in lean manufacturing to lead a large assembly team at a Manchester-based manufacturing site. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to drive cultural change, coach staff, and embed lean principles across daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of 30‑65 assembly staff, ensuring safe and efficient production.
• Implement and champion lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coach and mentor staff in lean methodologies, fostering a problem‑solving mindset.
• Act as a change agent, transitioning the workforce from a directive to an autonomous culture.
• Collaborate with senior management to align equipment investments with lean objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, ideally supported by a Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Practitioner qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and manage change within a production environment.
