Production Test Engineer – Electronics (Contract)

About the role

As a Production Test Engineer – Electronics, you will play a vital role in supporting testing and diagnostics of electrical/electronic sub‑systems and circuit cards during the production phase. You will provide technical support to the manufacturing test capability to ensure programme targets are met on time, cost and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide test engineering support to operators on the shop‑floor, including the introduction of new test equipment.
• Test and diagnose complex electrical/electronic systems, sub‑assemblies and circuit cards down to component level.
• Generate test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports based on higher‑level requirements.
• Identify remedial and corrective actions to keep manufacturing on schedule after test failures.
• Support meetings with Quality and Operations to give status updates on test engineering actions and investigations.

Required profile

• Minimum HNC level of Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
• Good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, with fault‑diagnosis experience down to component level.
• Awareness of electrical/electronic sub‑system and system design, integration and test principles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for generating specifications, instructions and reports.
• Ability to plan and organise work according to priorities.
• Advantageous: Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at the sub‑system level.
• Advantageous: Experience operating manual and automated test equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment.
