Professional Indemnity Claims Handler

About the role

Join Gallagher Bassett’s in‑house law firm, Caytons, as a Professional Indemnity Claims Handler. You will manage a diverse caseload of professional indemnity claims, working remotely while supporting a range of professions such as architects, engineers, solicitors and insurers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and progress professional indemnity claims to timely, cost‑effective resolution.
• Interpret policy wording and apply insurer claims philosophies.
• Operate within delegated authority, escalating matters when required.
• Maintain high‑quality file notes and accurate management information.
• Support SLA and KPI delivery across the portfolio.
• Assist with bordereaux reporting and general claims administration.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling professional indemnity claims (essential).
• Legal background – law degree, LPC or equivalent (desirable).
• Previous role as a claims handler or adjuster, preferably in a TPA or insurer environment.
• Strong understanding of delegated authority and referral processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
