Professional Indemnity Claims Solicitor

About the role

Our client, a respected specialist organisation in the insurance and claims management sector, is seeking an experienced Professional Indemnity Claims Solicitor. You will work on complex, high‑value defendant professional indemnity claims, providing strategic legal advice from notification through to resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of defendant professional indemnity claims from inception to conclusion.
• Handle claims involving SRA‑regulated law firms and solicitors, as well as FCA‑regulated professionals.
• Investigate liability, indemnity, causation and quantum issues.
• Advise insurers and insured professionals on policy coverage, litigation strategy and claims resolution.
• Instruct and liaise with panel solicitors, counsel, experts and other stakeholders.
• Negotiate settlements and oversee defended litigation.
• Build and maintain relationships with insurers, brokers, insureds and key stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor status.
• Proven experience handling defendant professional indemnity claims.
• Strong understanding of insurance law and professional negligence.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage a technically challenging caseload with minimal supervision.
• Commercial, solution‑focused approach with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience working with insurers, claims handlers or within the insurance sector is desirable.
• Strong relationship‑management skills.
