Programme Lead – Model Validation Transformation

About the role

We are seeking a senior Programme Lead to drive a high‑profile transformation within a Group Model Validation function of a major UK retail bank. The role sits at the intersection of risk, regulation, technology and AI, shaping the future operating model and improving validation processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of strategic transformation initiatives across the Model Validation function.
• Improve validation frameworks, governance processes and operating models.
• Partner with senior stakeholders in Risk, Technology and Business to secure alignment and influence change.
• Oversee programme planning, progress tracking, resource management and delivery governance.
• Support development and implementation of AI‑related frameworks, controls and ways of working.
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, prioritisation and risk‑based decision making.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale change or transformation programmes within Financial Services.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership level.
• Understanding of emerging AI technologies and associated governance, risk and control considerations in regulated organisations.
• Good knowledge of Risk, Model Risk, Model Validation or broader regulatory change environments.
• Experience delivering technology, data or operating model transformation initiatives.
• Strong programme management capability, including planning, governance, risk management and delivery oversight.
