Programme Lead – Rail Transformation

About the role

Cedar is seeking an experienced Programme Lead to drive a major rail transformation programme. You will oversee the organisation's contribution, coordinate cross‑functional delivery, and ensure the programme meets strategic objectives across engineering, operations, commercial and corporate functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the organisation's involvement in a large‑scale rail transformation, aligning activities with strategic goals.
• Coordinate delivery across engineering, operations, finance, commercial and support teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Establish robust governance, reporting and risk‑management processes.
• Manage programme budgets, commercial activities and resource planning.
• Ensure organisational readiness for implementation, covering operational, technical and business change.
• Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale rail, infrastructure, engineering or transport programmes.
• Strong understanding of operational environments and programme delivery.
• Experience managing senior stakeholders within complex organisations.
• Excellent governance, risk management and communication skills.
