Project Accountant – Management Accounting & Reporting

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing business on the outskirts of Cheltenham to hire an experienced Project Accountant on an 8‑week contract, with the possibility of extension. The role will rebuild and simplify the company’s management accounting and reporting framework after recent growth and acquisitions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build management accounts, forecasts and reporting packs from scratch.
• Create robust reconciliations and working files for multiple entities.
• Develop scalable Excel models that can import data from various systems.
• Implement clear, simple processes with strong internal controls.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or QBE (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Extensive experience producing management accounts and reconciliations.
• Proven track record of improving or redesigning finance processes.
• Advanced Excel modelling skills.
• Ability to quickly understand wholesale/distribution environments, including complex rebate structures.
• Confident in challenging existing practices and influencing stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and drive change.
