Project Design Engineer

About the role

The Project Design Engineer will be a central figure within the engineering function, combining technical expertise with project coordination. You will design and develop products while leading a small team and supporting the wider business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new products, creating 3D models and detailed drawings.
• Lead and supervise a small engineering team, providing technical support across the business.
• Collaborate with customers and project teams to deliver engineering solutions.
• Specify materials, generate Bills of Materials (BOMs), and perform hand calculations.
• Produce a range of engineering and design solutions to meet project requirements.

Required profile

• Background in mechanical design (essential).
• Project engineering experience with a track record of leading or supervising staff.
• Degree‑level qualification preferred.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams.
• Proficiency in 3D design, preferably using Inventor.
• Ability to perform hand calculations.
