Project Engineer – Electrical (Nuclear Power)

About the role
Amentum is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (Electrical) to join its Project Management Resource team supporting EDF Nuclear Generation. Based primarily at Sizewell B Power Station in East Anglia, you will work in a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment delivering electrical projects for the UK nuclear fleet.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of project execution strategies in collaboration with the client’s Project/Programme Manager.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver work safely, on schedule and to quality standards.
- Take accountability for assigned project activities, ensuring safety, quality, schedule and performance objectives are met.
- Maintain strong relationships with client teams, stakeholders and internal colleagues, communicating effectively across technical and non‑technical groups.
Required profile
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (Chartered status or progress towards chartership is desirable).
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification or equivalent.
- Proven experience applying modern project‑management techniques within complex, multi‑disciplinary organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to support projects through the full lifecycle, including design reviews, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning.
Required skills
- Electrical engineering knowledge, including controls, instrumentation and high‑voltage systems.
- Project lifecycle expertise covering engineering, design, procurement, safety case, construction and commissioning.
- Quality assurance / quality control understanding and commercial awareness.
- Cost estimating, cost control, planning and commercial management capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and project‑management tools such as scheduling, risk and Earned Value Management software.
