Project Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to join a leading technology solutions provider as a Project Engineer. The role is based in Hampshire with regular travel to client sites across the UK, delivering high‑quality infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install and configure server, storage and network environments for education and commercial clients.
• Provide technical pre‑sales input and produce detailed design proposals and documentation.
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, delivering 3rd‑line support.
• Manage project delivery from consultancy and design through to installation, configuration and handover.
• Travel nationally to client sites as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience deploying and supporting servers, storage, and LAN/WLAN networks.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Hyper‑V, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions in virtualised environments (e.g., Veeam).
• Skilled in firewall and web‑filter configuration and network authentication (e.g., Radius).
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities with a methodical, customer‑focused approach.
• Ability to produce detailed technical documentation and design proposals.
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally.
