Project Engineer – Materials & Processes

About the role

Join Airbus Belfast as a Project Engineer for Materials and Processes and take on a strategic leadership role that directly shapes the future of aerospace. You will drive high‑impact industrialisation improvements and play a pivotal part in exciting new aircraft development programmes within a dynamic production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support Materials and Processes activities within a fast‑paced production environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production challenges related to M&P technologies.
• Drive continuous product improvements across parts and assemblies to optimise manufacturing costs and elevate quality.
• Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering to streamline processes and align M&P operational goals.
• Guide material selection and act as the central M&P subject‑matter expert advising Design, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
• Cultivate robust stakeholder relationships across key internal functions, including Design, Procurement, and Supply Chain Quality.
• Play a pivotal role in future aircraft development programmes and strategic industrialisation improvement projects.

Required profile

• Engineer with experience in Materials & Processes, including knowledge of composite and metallic materials, assembly processes and chemical/environmental technologies.
• BSc/BEng degree with at least 3 years relevant M&P engineering experience, or HNC/HND qualification with at least 5 years relevant experience.
• Proven ability to technically support M&P qualifications, developments and interdisciplinary projects.
• Demonstrated networking skills and technical leadership when collaborating with internal or external partners.
