Project Engineer – Telecom Network Projects

About the role

The Project Engineer will join a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering and maintaining the client’s telecom network across Scotland. You will plan, install, commission and document a variety of network projects while supporting field, project and network operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical documentation and handover records for customer networks.
• Install, configure, fault‑find, report and maintain routers, switches and firewalls.
• Conduct site surveys, rack and telecom equipment installation, and commissioning to high standards.
• Produce health and safety documentation such as RAMS and POWRA.
• Provide technical representation at customer meetings and assist with critical fault resolution.
• Travel across Scotland as required, holding a full driving licence.

Required profile

• Proven experience monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting network and system environments.
• Strong background in IP networking (CCNA‑level knowledge) covering WAN, LAN and MPLS.
• Hands‑on experience with Nokia platforms (Nokia SAR‑H, Nokia NFM‑P) and XTran technology.
• Ability to produce accurate technical diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
