Project Manager – 12‑month Contract (Inside IR35)

About the role

This 12‑month contract position sits within a central implementation and projects function of a leading financial services organisation. The Project Manager will drive business change and technology‑enabled initiatives, working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver complex business change and technology‑enabled projects across the portfolio.
• Support PMO activities including planning, governance, reporting, documentation, and risk & issue management.
• Collaborate with senior sponsors, business teams and other stakeholders to keep projects on track.
• Provide challenge and structure, ensuring clear decision‑making and issue resolution.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously at different stages of the delivery lifecycle.
• Utilise project tools and frameworks to improve consistency and delivery efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven project management experience within financial services.
• Background in insurance, pensions or investment banking is highly relevant.
• Strong business‑facing stakeholder management, comfortable engaging with senior executives.
• Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and adapt to changing priorities.
• Solid PMO capability covering governance, reporting, risk and issue management.
• Good IT literacy with exposure to project management tools.
