Project Manager – 6‑Month IT Contract (Remote, 1 day on‑site)

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Project Manager to join the Performance and Planning department of a leading utilities client. This six‑month contract is primarily home‑based, with one day per month required on‑site in Bristol, and offers the chance to lead medium to large‑scale IT projects from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full Project Management Lifecycle for a portfolio of IT initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create project plans, set milestones, and manage schedules and budgets.
• Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure accountability across project teams.
• Present updates to stakeholders, lead meetings, and facilitate clear communication.
• Identify and mitigate project dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation aligned with PMO standards.
• Implement consistent project management processes and guidelines.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3/4 or equivalent education with solid practical experience in PMO, programme, project or portfolio management.
• Proven track record managing complex, cross‑functional IT projects.
• Strong understanding of IT‑to‑user relationships within an organisation.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
