Project Manager – Buildings & Places

About the role

Our client is expanding its Buildings & Places Project & Programme Management team and is looking for a proactive Project Manager to deliver construction projects across the North East region. The role combines client‑facing service delivery with end‑to‑end project leadership, supporting both new business development and the successful execution of existing contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and handover of construction projects throughout the full lifecycle.
• Maintain regular on‑site presence and co‑locate at client offices to build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Manage project budgets, governance processes and resource allocation to ensure commercial success.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, toolkits and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Support bid preparation, fee proposals and the identification of new business opportunities.

Required profile

• Degree in a construction‑related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Chartered membership (or working towards) of a recognised professional institute such as MRICS, CIOB or MAPM.
• Strong commercial awareness, problem‑solving ability and excellent communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently.
