Project Manager – Energy Infrastructure

About the role

This client‑side Project Manager position will lead the delivery of major energy infrastructure schemes for one of the UK’s largest heat‑network operators. You will ensure that contractors meet programme, quality, safety and commercial targets while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of heat‑network projects from a client perspective.
• Monitor and manage contractor performance against NEC contract requirements.
• Conduct regular site visits, identify issues early and drive corrective actions.
• Support contract administration, including commercial reviews and NEC processes.
• Manage project risks, budgets, schedules and performance reporting.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders to keep projects on track.
• Assist with commissioning, handover and project close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering infrastructure, utilities or energy projects.
• Strong background in contractor management and performance monitoring.
• Familiarity with NEC contract frameworks.
• Ability to work on‑site and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Good understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements.

• Salary between £50,000 and £60,000 per year, dependent on experience.
