Project Manager – MOD/MOJ Public Sector Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex MOD, MOJ and secure‑environment schemes across the South Coast. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery of projects valued between £10 million and £40 million, ensuring safety, quality and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day‑to‑day delivery of projects from early stages to completion.
• Lead site teams, manage subcontractors, consultants and supply‑chain partners.
• Oversee health & safety, quality, environmental standards and site compliance.
• Identify and mitigate risks to programme or budget, driving progress on site.
• Work closely with commercial teams on cost control, forecasting and reporting.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide regular project updates.
• Support design coordination, buildability reviews and value engineering.
• Produce clear internal and external reports on project progress.

Required profile

• Proven main‑contracting background with experience as the No. 1 on‑site manager.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi‑disciplinary teams on public‑sector projects.
• Experience in MOD/defence, MOJ/prison, secure or live‑environment schemes is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
