Project Manager – Transportation (Leeds/Sheffield)

About the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to join Mott MacDonald’s North Eastern transportation team, working on a portfolio of aviation, highways, rail and maritime projects across the UK. The role will be based in Leeds or Sheffield and will involve delivering complex transportation programmes for public and private sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of transportation projects and programmes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including planners, commercial managers and quantity surveyors.
• Manage project budgets, schedules and risk registers to ensure targets are met.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to align project objectives and provide regular progress updates.
• Support the growth of the North Eastern team by mentoring junior staff and contributing to business development activities.

Required profile

• Relevant professional qualification in project or programme management.
• Proven experience delivering large‑scale transportation projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
