Project Worker - Complex Needs

About the role

The Project Worker – Complex Needs will provide intensive, person‑centred support to a small caseload of clients experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantages. Working on a rotating shift pattern, you will help individuals move from emergency accommodation to stable, long‑term housing while addressing their health, financial and wellbeing needs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of six key clients and develop short‑term support plans.
• Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments, including substance‑use and mental‑health considerations.
• Deliver 1:1, group and community support, focusing on advocacy, life‑skills development and confidence building.
• Respond promptly to referrals, build trust, and use trauma‑informed approaches throughout.
• Assist clients with benefits claims, rent management and navigating local authority services.
• Perform room checks and health‑and‑safety tasks with sensitivity.
• Monitor rent accounts with the housing team and follow up on discrepancies.
• Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to ensure coordinated, wrap‑around care.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with homelessness or multi‑disadvantaged populations.
• Demonstrated ability to support clients in setting and achieving personal goals.
• Experience managing crises calmly and safely.
• Strong partnership skills with a range of agencies and professionals.
• Knowledge of financial support options to maximise client income and resilience.
• Understanding of professional boundaries and trauma‑informed practice.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency with IT applications and keyboard use.
