Property Compliance Manager

About the role

This temporary position supports a special compliance project aimed at ensuring the Council’s property estate meets all statutory requirements. Working within the Facilities Management unit and alongside project lawyers, the role will help deliver remedial works so the permanent compliance team can manage the estate on a day‑to‑day basis.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out site inspections across the borough to verify statutory compliance of council properties.
• Identify non‑compliant issues and coordinate remedial actions with third‑party contractors.
• Manage contractors to complete remedial works and keep the compliance tracker up to date.
• Review compliance certificates from contractors and trigger any further remedial actions.
• Collaborate with the Facilities Management team and project lawyers on statutory obligations.

Required profile

• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Comprehensive knowledge of property‑related statutory compliance obligations.
• Understanding of building pathology and mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems.
• Proven project‑management ability to oversee contractor work.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the borough, often using limited public transport.
