Property Damage Solicitor (Legal Director)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Property Damage Solicitor to join a leading insurance law team in Manchester. The role sits at Legal Director level, offering the chance to manage complex property damage claims and shape the department’s strategic direction.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a varied caseload of property damage matters, overseeing each file from inception to resolution.
• Provide high‑quality client service, ensuring efficient progress within agreed timescales.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support team objectives and manage departmental workloads.
• Develop and maintain relationships with insurer clients, brokers, experts and other stakeholders.
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers, contributing to their professional development.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team effectiveness.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of eight years post‑qualification experience in property damage litigation.
• Proven track record handling third‑party property damage claims, subrogated recoveries, product liability disputes and policy coverage matters.
• Strong technical understanding of commercial insurance law and litigation practice.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
