Property Maintenance Engineer (Handyman)

About the role

We are looking for a versatile Property Maintenance Engineer to join our rapidly growing team serving London and the surrounding M25 area. The role involves a mix of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general upkeep tasks across residential, commercial and institutional sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform minor electrical work such as replacing bulbs, rewiring sockets, and installing doorbells, alarms and thermostats.
• Carry out plumbing tasks including tap and sink installation, leak repairs and sealant application.
• Execute carpentry and joinery work – installing cabinets, doors, countertops, and various flooring types.
• Paint and decorate walls, ceilings and trim, and touch‑up surfaces as needed.
• Identify and repair roof leaks, clear gutters, replace shingles and improve insulation.
• Maintain gardens and grounds – mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding, watering beds and fixing fences or walls.
• Conduct general safety checks, install security systems and perform routine building upkeep.

Required profile

• Practical experience using hand and power tools in a range of environments.
• Physical stamina and ability to work at height, in basements and outdoors.
• Basic literacy and numeracy (GCSE level or equivalent).
• Awareness of UK health and safety regulations and use of protective equipment.
• Strong customer service attitude and ability to provide clear quotes.
• Own basic tool set, a UK driving licence and access to a suitable van.
