Property Portfolio Underwriting Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Property Portfolio Underwriting Manager to lead the underwriting strategy for our client’s property business in Manchester. The role will shape the portfolio, drive growth and profitability, and work closely with brokers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement underwriting strategy for the property portfolio in line with market dynamics.
• Identify, review and negotiate panel deals and new business opportunities.
• Manage relationships with brokers, internal underwriters and other stakeholders.
• Take technical referrals and provide expert guidance on complex risks.
• Monitor performance against growth and profitability targets.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of property insurance and portfolio underwriting.
• Excellent numeracy, analytical ability and commercial awareness of insurance products and broking distribution.
• Proven experience in a similar underwriting role within a commercial insurer.
