Protective Equipment Warehouse Technician (3‑month contract)

About the role

The London Fire Brigade is seeking a Warehouse Technician to join its Protective Equipment Group on a three‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work within the Operations Support Group in Croydon, focusing on the testing and maintenance of firefighter hoses and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Test and certify firefighter hoses to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of technical equipment.
• Move, transport, and handle equipment across the Greater London area, requiring a full UK driving licence.
• Maintain accurate manual and computerised records of equipment and stock.
• Enter and retrieve data using the brigade’s computer systems and manage related email communications.

Required profile

• Technical background, preferably in engineering or a related field.
• Experience servicing and maintaining technical equipment.
• Proficiency with computerised data‑entry systems.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence.
