PSV Mechanic – Electric Coach Fleet

About the role

Ember is the UK's first all‑electric coach company, operating a growing fleet of 118 electric coaches. We are seeking a PSV Mechanic to join our team in Livingston, supporting operations across Scotland and working closely with colleagues in Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve immediate mechanical issues to keep coaches on the road.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on a high‑utilisation electric fleet.
• Use remote diagnostics and proprietary software systems for fault identification.
• Collaborate with manufacturers to investigate root causes and develop long‑term solutions.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or international equivalent) in PSV/HGV maintenance and repair.
• IRTEC accreditation.
• At least 2 years of senior‑level experience in vehicle maintenance.
• Familiarity with DVSA compliance, MOT preparation and safety/quality checks.
• Full UK driving licence (6 points or less).

Required skills

• NVQ Level 3 PSV/HGV maintenance qualification.
• IRTEC accreditation.
• High‑voltage training (preferred).
• Experience with fleet management systems.
• Proficiency in remote diagnostics.
