PSV Technician – Full-time (4 on/4 off)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated PSV Technician to join our engineering team at Thames Valley Buses’ Bracknell depot. You will play a vital part in keeping our modern bus fleet safe, reliable and ready for daily service.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance, inspections and repairs to ensure roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Diagnose and rectify driver-reported defects promptly to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical and electronic bus systems, troubleshooting complex faults.
• Record all faults and remedial actions accurately using tablet-based digital documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and adhere to all health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in PSV maintenance and repair, or a minimum of five years’ proven experience with PSVs.
• IRTEC Vehicle Inspector qualification (or willingness to obtain within six months).
• Ability to work a 4-on-4-off shift pattern, including evenings and nights.

What we offer

• £25.00 per hour plus a shift enhancement of £4.79 per hour for work after 18:00.
