Psychology Graduate – Behaviour & Learning Support (Full‑Time)

About the role

This full‑time, term‑time position offers psychology graduates the chance to work directly within secondary schools across the Wirral. You will support pupils with social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs, gaining practical experience that is valuable for future careers in educational psychology, counselling, or mental health.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to develop pupils' emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Assist with tailored interventions for students with SEND, SEMH, or communication challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN teams, and pastoral staff to remove barriers to learning.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils to enhance engagement and wellbeing.
• Observe, record, and report behavioural patterns to inform support strategies.
• Promote an inclusive, nurturing learning environment.

Required profile

• Degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
• Passion for working with children and young people.
• Strong communication, empathy, and relationship‑building abilities.
• Patient, proactive, and resilient attitude.
• Interest in SEND, mental health, or behaviour support.
• Willingness to obtain a valid enhanced DBS.
