Psychology Graduate – Learning Support Assistant (SEND)

About the role

We are seeking a recent Psychology graduate to join a vibrant Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Slough as a Learning Support Assistant. This full‑time position starts in September 2026 and offers a solid foundation for a career in educational psychology, therapy, or teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored one‑to‑one or small‑group support to students.
• Assist with sensory activities that promote engagement and development.
• Prepare and organise learning resources and materials.
• Deliver feedback to teachers and parents on student progress.
• Work closely with pupils who have autism, severe learning difficulties, and other complex needs.

• Empathetic and patient approach to supporting diverse learners.
• Flexible and adaptable to different learning styles and behaviours.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with students, staff, and families.
• Resilient mindset to remain calm in challenging situations.
• Genuine passion for working with children with SEND.
