Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

About the role
This full‑time, temporary position offers psychology graduates the chance to gain hands‑on experience in primary schools across Greater Manchester. You will work alongside teachers and SEND professionals, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils requiring extra help.
- Assist children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication challenges.
- Help pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation and independence.
- Deliver targeted interventions under the guidance of teachers and SENDCOs.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Support positive behaviour using calm, consistent strategies.
Required profile
- A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject.
- Genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy and resilience.
- Experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
