Purchase Ledger Clerk – Logistics Business

About the role

We are seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a fast‑growing logistics company in Bury. The role involves processing a high volume of supplier invoices, maintaining accurate purchase ledger records and supporting the finance team’s day‑to‑day operations. You will have the opportunity to develop broader accounting skills and work towards AAT qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Process large numbers of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and run payment batches.
• Maintain up‑to‑date purchase ledger records, including foreign‑currency (Euro) invoices.
• Handle supplier queries and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Assist with ad‑hoc finance tasks as required.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years’ experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable role.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Proactive communication style and desire to expand accounting knowledge.
• Ambition to study or continue AAT qualifications.

Required skills

• Experience processing invoices in Euro or other foreign currencies.
